Kulisek / Lieske
Kulisek / Lieske is a collaborative project by German artist David Lieske and American artist and photographer Rob Kulisek. As Kulisek / Lieske, the duo has collaborated on visual artwork and music (under the name MISANTHROPE CA) since 2015.
Artist, DJ and musician David Lieske lives and works in Berlin and has had a lengthy career as a solo artist with solo exhibitions at Corvi-Mora, London; Galerie Buchholz, Berlin; Alex Zachary, New York and CFA Contemporary Fine Arts, Berlin. Lieske co-founded Dial Records in 1999 and Mathew Gallery which was active in Berlin from 2011-2015 and New York from 2o16-2018.
Rob Kulisek is a photographer based in New York. Along with David Lieske, he is the co-founder of 299 792 458 m/s, an annual fashion journal published by Westreich/Wagner. In 2016 he was nominated for FOAM Magazine’s Paul Huff Award and his collaborative work with Dora Budor, Allergic to the 20th Century, was included in the 9th Berlin Biennale curated by DIS.
